Meet Jimmy…

My relationship with videography has been a wild ride over nearly 20 years.

My first art was music. I was ‘required’ by my parents to play an instrument at a young age. Piano was the first muse but the guitar quickly stole my attention. By my teenage years I had started a band with some friends and we quickly started writing music and playing shows. At the same time, we realized we needed some media. I downloaded every app I could get my hands on to learn graphic design and video editing. And I was hooked.

I began filming and taking photos everywhere I went to learn how to tell stories with media.

A while later I began working in the church world as a music and creative director. Telling stories, filming events, lessons, and testimonies become part of my daily workload. In 2012, my 3rd child and Savage Media were born. I needed to bring in a little more income as my family grew and SM become a healthy side hustle. Filming for local dance studios, car dealerships, and all my friends businesses…I grew in my craft and began loving the variety of people and places a video camera could take me.

Then 2020 hit, the world shut down and all that introspective time gave me a new perspective on my life, passions, and dreams. I wanted (and needed) more time with my family. I wanted more to be an artist again. I wanted more time around people with stories to tell. So in 2021, Savage Media moved from my side hustle…to my dream hustle.

Now that you know some of my story…I’d love to hear yours! Lets connect…
